Brandon Duncan is a Staff Representative for the United Steelworkers. He has served in various positions over the past 20+ years. In 2001, he was elected to his first union contract negotiating committee. During his early years in the union movement, he educated himself in labor, laws, politics, business, and finance. He was elected Union President of Local 727 in 2008 and served until March 2018, at which time he started full-time in his current position. He is entrusted with sixteen different collective bargaining agreements and serves his USW brothers and sisters diligently.
He also serves in a management position as the President of the Board of Directors for the Jackson and Sanders House in Paducah, Kentucky, and has held this position since 2012. In this position he oversees a yearly budget of nearly 2 million dollars. He works with a management staff to ensure over 300 apartment units are maintained at a very high level, so our elderly and most vulnerable population has a safe, clean, and affordable place to live.
His passion is to ensure individuals are treated fair and with respect. He wants everyone to succeed. He tries to empower people wherever he is and believes education is the key to our success.
